Mega Zygrade, the featured Pokemon of Munikis Zero

Munikis Zero: Everything We Know About Pokemon's January 2026 Japanese Set [UPDATED]

Last Updated: December 9th, 2025

Pokemon's next Japanese set is just around the corner. Here is everything you need to know about Pokemon Japan's Munikis Zero, headlining Mega Zygarde.

Whether you're a collector, investor, or just want to know what's coming before the English release, this guide has everything we know so far about Munikis Zero. I'll be updating this post regularly as new cards are revealed, pull rates leak, and product details emerge.

Set Name & Release Date

Official Name: Munikis Zero (ムニキスゼロ)
Release Date: January 23, 2026
Region: Japan

The set name surfaced through Japanese distributor listings, with Pokemon filing the trademark shortly after. This is an unusually short window for Pokemon between trademark and release.

What Does "Munikis Zero" Mean?

The name derives from the Japanese phrase 無に帰する (munikisuru), meaning "to return to nothing." This directly references Mega Zygarde's signature move "Nihil Light," which translates to "Light That Returns to Nothing" in Japanese.

The "Zero" suffix adds another layer of intrigue - possibly hinting at themes of destruction, reset, or a return to origins.

Featured Pokemon: Mega Zygarde

Mega Zygarde takes center stage as the headlining Pokemon for Munikis Zero. This marks a significant moment for the Zygarde line, which has historically been underrepresented in the TCG compared to other legendary Pokemon.

Card Reveals

No cards have been officially revealed yet. Check back as Pokemon begins their preview season - typically starting 3-4 weeks before release.

Expected reveal timeline:

  • Early January: First official card reveals
  • Mid January: Set list leaks and full spoilers
  • January 23: Official release

Pull Rates & Hits

Information will be updated once product releases and pull rate data becomes available.

Based on recent Japanese set patterns, here's what you can expect in terms of guaranteed hits. These are not confirmed.

  • 1 Super Rare or better (Mega Ultra Rare/Special Art Rare)
  • 1 Item-specific Super Rare
  • 3 Art Rares
  • 4 or 5 Double Rares

Available Products

Product lineup details are still emerging, but Munikis Zero will likely include:

  • Booster boxes (Most likley 30 packs)
  • Individual booster packs

When is Munikis Zero coming out?

Munkis Zero will be releasing January 23rd, 2026 in Japan.

When Will This Come to English?

Japanese sets don't always have a 1:1 correlation with English releases. Typically, 2-3 Japanese sets are combined into a single English expansion.

Munikis Zero will be part of the English Perfect Order set releasing March 27th, 2026, possibly combining with other Japanese releases from early 2025 (Like Ninja Spinner)

Why Japanese Sets Matter for Collectors & Investors

If you're new to Japanese Pokemon products, here's why sets like Munikis Zero deserve your attention:

Better pull rates - Japanese booster boxes typically guarantee a minimum number of hits per box
Lower price point - Often less than half the price of English boxes
Early access - Get cards months before English release
Superior quality - Japanese card stock and centering are generally better
Unique artwork - Some Japanese exclusives never make it to English sets

Pre-Order Information

Stoata will have Munikis Zero booster boxes available for pre-order.

Card Speculation

While it's early to identify specific chase cards, here's what I personally think we could see.

Mega Dream revealed to us that both new Mega forms and trainers in Pokemon Legends ZA are fair game for the TCG. With this information, it is possible that we see...

  • The ZA Starter Trio
  • Fan favorite charactars, like Gwen or Jacinthe

We are unlikely to see the following

  • Mega Greninja, as that is the featured Pokemon of the next set
  • The Kalos starter Megas, as they are likely to include them with Greninja
  • Pokemon Legends ZA DLC exclusive Pokemon.

Stay Updated

This post will be updated regularly as new information becomes available. Key updates to watch for:

  • Full card list reveal (expected January)
  • Official pull rate data (available after release)
  • Market pricing trends
